The silicone (red bulb) is more chemically resistant and more resilient than either PVC or natural rubber. It will not crack or become brittle and will last longer and remains flexible. Both materials are flexible and accept any size pipette. The rubber bulb contains chemically resistant steel valves, and the silicone rubber has superior glass valves encapsulated in the rubber material and operated by gently squeezing the valves.

The volume delivered is determined by the volume-selector-dial and the size of the syringe chosen. A chart supplied with the unit helps to select the most suitable size syringe for a particular volume.
The set is suitable to dispense 21 different volumes by up to 58 times without refilling. An accuracy of +/- 1.5% or better depending on the size of the syringe is attainable. All syringes are autoclavable, except 60ml size.

The 0.6mL syringe (and others - ask) may be purchased und used manually for less repetitive dispensing jobs. With the supplied (100 syringes and 100 tips) the single graduation is 0.6mL. The colour coded pipette tips shown on this page happen to click to these syringes and then may then be used to dispense single drops of a designated volume.

ADJUSTABLE PIPETTERS
The Oxford Benchmate® is a single-channel, piston-driven, air-displacement pipetter. It is continually adjustable throughout its entire range of operation and is fully autoclavable without the need for disassembly or recalibration. This eliminates the need to purchase multiple units for incompatible operations, while ensuring operator safety and laboratory hygiene. The handle provides high thermal insulation to virtually eliminate heat transfer to the inner mechanism, maximising consistency and repeatability.
The pipetter is available in a wide variety of volume ranges, from 0.1µL to 10mL, to meet the needs of any liquid handling application. Piston seals are made of PTFE, which enables the pipetter to withstand long periods of operation while maintaining accuracy and reproducibility.
Ergonomic design minimises operator stress, allowing accurate, dependable and repeatable results. The pipetter is exceptionally lightweight, with a slender, comfortable handle. The plunger and tip ejector button operate with very low resistance to minimise operator strain and fatigue.
Accidental volume adjustment is eliminated by the employment of a unique lock lever, which also facilitates fast and easy intentional adjustment. Simply release the lock lever and rotate the thumb knob to change the volume setting. The selected volume is clearly indicated by the convenient, easy-to-read digital volume indicator.
Filtered barrels for the 1000µL, 5000µL and 10mL models ensure aerosol-free operation.
