In the case of large variances in the electrode condition, it alerts the user that the electrode needs to be properly cleaned prior to calibration and measuring. The second feature is to detect if the calibration buffer solution is contaminated. After calibration, the probe condition is evaluated and an indicator is displayed, informing the user of the overall pH electrode status. This instrument can measure ORP using ORP electrodes (pH channel input), due to its capability to measure mV with a resolution up to 0.1 mV. It also features five point calibration with seven standard buffers, automatic temperature compensation and GLP capabilities that allow for the storage and retrieval of all data regarding pH. EHI8633 and EHI8733 have been designed specifically for use in areas of production and quality control. It is often necessary to test samples with different concentrations ranging from deionised water to brine.
The amperometric system would require constant recalibration and probe changes, thus making the measurement process very time consuming and unreliable. To solve this problem, HANNA® has developed the EHI8633, which uses a 4-ring potentiometric probe. The rugged probe is made of PVC - ideal for indoor, as well as outdoor measurements.
By using one point calibration, it is now possible to obtain accurate readings across a very wide range, from 0.1 to 199900 µS/cm.

Some of the most advanced capabilities available are incorporated into this meter. Designed for intuitive operation, the menu-driven navigation is user-friendly and logical. A backlit 128 x 64 pixels graphic LCD, that automatically sizes the digits, allows full configuration of each measured parameter, displays on-screen graphing and has options for units and language selections, provides high-quality resolution and sophistication unsurpassed in its class.

EHI9828 is designed for demanding outdoor environments. The meter is impact resistant and waterproof to IP67 standards (30 minutes immersion under 1m of water), and the multi-sensor probe, HI 769828, with an IP68 rating, can be left underwater for an extended period of time. This intelligent probe contains a built-in microprocessor with amplifiers, interprets the high impedance signals from each sensor and sends the converted data to the meter. Consequently, common tolerance issues associated with high impedance signals, such as limiting cable length, and noise interferences are eliminated. The probe maintains reliable communication with the meter, and the user is warned of any problems, such as a broken cable line.
Five out of six measured parameters are housed in the probe: pH/pH mV, ORP, EC, % saturation and mg/L (ppm) oxygen and temperature. Each sensor is independently replaceable, and easy to maintain and clean. The sensors are protected by a rugged outer PVC/stainless steel sleeve, the design of which is suited for use in 50mm wells. The intact probe housing is rated to IP68. Standard cable lengths are 4, 10 and 20 meters and custom lengths are available upon request. The galvanic DO sensor has a built-in thermistor to provide fast temperature corrected readings. Of course, there is no polarisation time for this sensor, so it is ready for measurement at a moment's notice. For EC, a 4-ring conductivity system ensures stable readings that are immune to polarisation and the buffering effect of surface coating. Absolute conductivity, temperature corrected conductivity, salinity, specific gravity and TDS determinations are possible with measurements from this sensor. The meter automatically recognises the presence of either the pH or pH/ORP sensor. Both sensors have a cloth junction which allows greater sensitivity, and are gel-filled for improved resistance to contamination. The meter also displays pH/mV readings, ideal for trouble-shooting. It accepts both alkaline and rechargeable batteries and can be recharged in the field via the 12V car accessory outlet adapter, included.
